Itinerary

Overview

Kyichu(Lhasa River) is the perfect run for those looking for a spectacular scenic trip and not too much action. It is an ideal way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and gain a different perspective of Lhasa and the Lhasa Valley. We use oar rafts, which means the guide does all the work and all you have to do is sit back, enjoy the view and take photos. You do not have to be acclimatized to undertake this trip, as there is very little physical exertion required.

The Kyi Chu is a flat, but fast moving river during the wet season and a flat slow moving river during the dry season. It is the first major tributaries of the Yarlung Tsangpo ( from West to East) and drains much of the region north-east of Lhasa including the Reting Tsangpo and Drigung Chu. It is the perfect aclimatisation trip to both get a different perspective of the valley in which Lhasa lies and to loosen up the muscles ready for the harder stuff later in the trip.
