Is the site of the international airport. Situated in the Paro Valley of Eastern Himalaya, the town is full of legends, heroism, and natural splendor. One has to land in this beautiful airport town of Paro when traveling by air. Paro Dzong is the symbolic centre of religion. It was built in 1646, the Dzong is an architectural wonder. National Museum in the Paro dzong has a collection of weapons and stamps, birds and mammals. Taktsang Lhakang (Tiger's Nest), it is located at a distance of around 80 kilometers from Paro, perched on the edge of a cliff. Taktsang Lhakang is the place where it is believed that Guru Rimpoche arrived more than a million ago on the back of a legendary tigress. He mediated in a cave for around two months.
